The year 2021 is drawing to a close, and we at BerlinCaseViewer are taking the opportunity to look back on the past twelve months. What successes have we been able to celebrate with our specialist radiology modules? What has happened in our team? And what can you expect from the BCV in terms of radiological training in 2022? Today we are celebrating the 10th International Radiology Day – IDoR 2021. Every year, radiologists use November 8th to raise awareness of the importance of medical imaging around the world. It was on this day that Conrad Wilhelm Röntgen discovered X-rays 126 years ago. Today, on top of that, we’re celebrating also the release of the Android version of the BerlinCaseViewer app.

Starting this fall, the learning content of our radiology app will be available in eight more languages in addition to German and English: Spanish, French, Chinese, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Romanian and Greek. In this article, we reveal why we put so much effort into making the BerlinCaseViewer app multilingual, when we seemingly already have a common language with English.

“Are you on TikTok?,” that is what students ask each other. After all, Generation Z makes up a large chunk of the community, and amusing clips for entertainment in less than 60 seconds are fun. Hence, the self-declared mission of the content platform: “to inspire creativity and bring joy.”

On February 25th, the platform AuntMinnieEurope.com awarded the best radiological achievements of 2020. A community of over 31,000 members could suggest nominations in eight categories, ranging from “Most Influential Radiology Researcher” to “Best New Radiology Vendor”. A committee decided who would move on into the final. Then the news at the end of 2020: The BerlinCaseViewer, with its free module on COVID-19 pneumonia, first made it onto the shortlist for “Best New Radiology Software” and eventually reached the final.
